Quite frankly, this is the very first time I’ve learned of this acronym – VUCA.

The two videos (posted below) are quite compelling and insightful, their creators deserve a commendation.
We have been living in a VUCA world long before this pandemic befell us and, in my opinion, this is exactly the essence of living –– waking up every day without completely knowing what will happen next. As much as we try to constantly prepare and plan for the things that we believe can be controllable, may it be in our personal or organizational life, time has proven yet again, that we can only do so much planning and preparation then comes life’s many interesting surprises.
On a brighter note, we, humans, have been living and surviving this VUCA world since time immemorial because we have been molded over time to thrive in this kind of treacherous environment and to cultivate a mindset to survive this VUCA world and that is essentially the beauty of life.

VUCA has two sides: a positive and a negative, it just differs on how a person perceives it. VUCA, on a less sanguine perspective, can be quite scary and overwhelming. On the other hand, if we look at VUCA on a more constructive light, it forces us to be resilient, perceptive and innovative. I believe that most of the greatest innovations were conceived to make this world a little less volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous.
