It was quite uplifting and exciting to watch Fr. Jett Villarin give a very inspiring message on how the Ateneo is exploring opportunities of inclusive and adaptive learning amidst the ongoing crisis. Online learning, indeed, is quite foreign for most of us. Personally, before I started my MBA at the Ateneo, I actually considered taking an online class from a prestigious foreign university but decided not to because I used to believe that the traditional classroom setup is still the most effective and conducive way to learn. However, due to the unprecedented events that took place a couple of months ago that drastically changed the entire world particularly the education system, we practically had no choice but to adapt to these sudden changes for us to continue learning. I’m glad that I took the leap and decided to enroll this term despite the difficulties brought about by many factors e.g., transition to online class, intermittent internet connection, anxiety brought by the pandemic, and so on. We are now facing a new era, where digital learning has essentially taken over the entire education sector. Creativity and innovation are required to keep up with this new normal. There is no turning back but only moving forward.
