I had quite an interesting and enjoyable time during my Digital Marketing class last June 17. It was rather a shift from our usual online class wherein our professor is the one who normally discusses the topics that are scheduled to be tackled on during our Wednesday synchronous meeting. This time, three of my classmates were given the opportunity to share with the entire class the hard work they poured in their COSLA videos. We spent an hour watching their three videos that discussed three different chapters of the Marketing 4.0 textbook. It was fun to watch their videos as it depicted their different yet amusing personalities. For me, one of the videos stood out because of its lively and entertaining narration of its presenter. Watch the video below:

I believe that class reporting conducted in this fashion is more effective, timely, and conducive for learning, not only for its relevance in this new normal condition that we are in now but also for its ability to accommodate the different levels of comprehension and learning styles of every student. This method enables a student to repeat or rewind a certain part of the video which he/she does not completely understand. Incorporating excellent visuals such as images, videos, effects or slide designs also helps in increasing the viewer’s engagement.

Creating this kind of educational video also encourage students to be more creative and innovative in presenting their assigned topics. It could bring out latent talents or improve existing ones e.g. doing voice-over, creating visual effects, etc. This approach could really be the future of learning and teaching.
